PopUp Ads
PopUp Ads appear in a new window, new screen, or are otherwise separate from the media in which they are contained. This includes using layers or stylesheets to display advertisement-based information independent of Web page content. User events trigger the advertisement; either a mouse click or rollover will cause the PopUp Ad to appear. They can be self-removing or can be dispelled by the viewer at any time.
The PopUp Interstitial is the most prominently used form of PopUp advertisement on the Web. The PopUp Interstitial is used to advertise while users wait for downloads. Non-interstitial usage of PopUp Ads occur after the page is loaded and are not automatically launched upon entry.

Click Driven
The advertisements here are contained within the HTML environment. The same principals would apply to their appearance in Shockwave, Java, and other media. In the various media, some of the uses of PopUp advertisements will occur in conjunction with Interactive Product Placement. PopUp methods are employable in all immersive media. Click the logos below to launch a PopUp Ad. After ten seconds they will disappear.

Rollover Driven
The rollover method is one that is used for balloon help in the Macintosh and Windows95 operating systems. It is possible using JavaScript, Lingo, Java, and other languages to time the rollover action to begin after a certain amount of time. This could enable you to make the advertisement pop up after a certain time that the user has the mouse over the hot area. Roll the mouse over these items to open their PopUp Ads. Each will close itself after ten seconds.
